Confucius said: " The commander of the army may be carried off，but the will of even a common man cannot be taken from him."
【原文】
子曰：“三军可夺帅也，匹夫不可夺志也。”
--《论语·子罕》
“理想”这个词，在春秋时代称为“志”，人的志向、志气。“匹夫不可夺志”，是孔子对于“志”的高度重视的体现，并将它与三军统帅类比。作为个人，他应维护自己的尊严，不受威胁利诱，始终保持自己的志向。
